Ketoprak is the traditional art of Javanese society. In Yogyakarta, this art better known as Ketoprak Mataram which is played in a Tobong (stage), which is also known by the term "Ketoprak Tobong". However, in its development, this art is slowly becoming obsolete because they do not attract people anymore.
In an effort to maintain the existence ketoprak art, some artists Ketoprak Garapan ketoprak form communities, with different packaging with the existing ketoprak. One of them is staging Ketoprak Ringkes currently very popular and liked the people of Yogyakarta.
Ketoprak Ringkes an effort to color in the arts ketoprak existing ones. The play is taken to adapt the story of the social political situation which is becoming the talk of society while staging performed in a relaxed style, full of improvisation. as seen in the staging of "lizard Nguntal forked (Cicak Eat Pole)" that is played by the Community Ketoprak Ringkes Tjap Tjontong at Concert Hall Taman Budaya Yogyakarta on Saturday (30 / 1), anyone would agree that these performances take place very successful. Concert hall with a capacity of around 1000 seats filled without a rest, while dozens of spectators who did not get a seat willing to sit Lesbian grounded mats and newspapers in front of the stage.
